This single serve healthy chocolate mug cake is naturally sweetened and made with whole grains for an easy homemade treat!
Serves: 1 mug cake
Ingredients
  • 2.5 tablespoons white whole wheat flour (option to sub all-purpose gluten-free flour)
  • 1.5 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tablespoon almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon mini chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Place dry ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until combined. Then, add in egg white, maple syrup, coconut oil, and almond milk and mix again. Finally add chocolate chips and give it one last mix. Spray a mug with coconut oil cooking spray and then pour batter into mug. Microwave on high for 60 seconds.

  1. Made this for dessert last night and it was ah-ma-zing! Super quick to put together & had just the right amount of sweet chocolaty goodness. I will be memorizing this recipe in a matter of weeks, that’s for sure!

  2. I made this tonight and loved it! I cut down on dishes by melting the coconut oil in the mug before adding any other ingredients.. didn’t need the cooing spray then! 🙂
